Does this range vent microwave have a place to duct the exhaust
Model JVM6175SKSS can be either recirculating or set up for external venting, so it can be installed to exhaust through a duct. Is it backlit?
No, the display and controls are not backlit.
Is there other options other than the over priced GE filler kit when installing the 30" microwave in place of the old 36" microwave.
You also have the option to purchase the 15" Bump-Out Kit (model JX15BUMPBB) for this microwave. This kit is compatible with the unit and is not adjustable. Once installed, it extends the microwave forward by 3 inches.

It comes in several different finishes. You should be able to tell which one you're looking at by looking at the photos of that specific finish.
Where do I place the charcoal filter? Previous owner didn’t place a charcoal filter in.
The charcoal filter is only required for a non-vented installation. If your unit vents to the outside, the filter is not needed. If the microwave is set up for recirculating air inside the kitchen, the charcoal filter should be installed behind the top front grille.
