36 in. Built-In Electric Stove Induction Cooktop Touch Control in Black with 5-Elements
The Empava brand Induction Cooktop combines the power of gas with the easy clean-up of electric to give you the utmost cooking flexibility. Induction cooking is 70% more efficient than gas and 20% more efficient than electric and offers more responsive, exceptional temperature control at low and high heats, so it is gentle enough to melt chocolate and powerful enough to boil water. And because heat is generated directly in the cookware, the cooktop stays cooler to the touch, making it safer and easier to clean. Induction elements are compatible with most stainless-steel cookware. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of a pot or pan, it is induction friendly. Empava products offer the best in contemporary design matched with the latest in appliance technologies to transform the way you live.

What is the size of each magnet for this cooktop? Not the glass part but the induction magnet itself. Thanks
Hi Jimaa, Great questions. It's about 6-inch. In the case of an induction cooktop, an electric current passes through a coil which creates a magnetic field all around and inside the cookware, which directly heat the cookware, and not the cooktop surface. In the same size heated area, the larger the power, the faster the heating speed. Induction cooktops are the leaders when it comes to even heating. The only requirement is for the cookware to be ferromagnetic and have a flat base. A flat base enables electromagnetic induction to take place evenly. Please install it by a licensed contractor. If the products need assistance with technical issues, please send the order details to support@empava.com. There is a professional customer service team to follow up. Thanks for checking with us!
Why is this marketed as an induction cooktop? I bought this a few months ago and only just installed it. I turn it on and it isn't functioning like an induction cooktop. I open up the instructions and it says this is a ceramic cooktop. False advertisement
Hi Morgan, Thank you for reaching out. I understand your concern. To clarify, "ceramic cooktop" refers to the surface material—this is still an induction cooktop with a ceramic glass top. Induction cooktops use electromagnetic technology to heat the pan directly, not the surface. May I ask what makes you feel it isn't functioning like an induction cooktop? Induction requires ferromagnetic cookware with a flat base for proper operation. The base of the pot or pan should also match or be slightly larger than the heating zone for even heat distribution. Suitable cookware includes magnetic stainless steel, cast iron, or aluminum encapsulated with stainless steel. If you're using compatible cookware and still experiencing issues, please contact with us at SUPPORT@EMPAVA.COM ---- I'm happy to help further.

I bought an empva .. and it makes a noise when turning on and if you turn up the heating power the sound increases .. is that normal or is it defective .. ???? please answer.. because I loved it and that's what I didn't like.
Yes, induction technology on all brands makes this noise, which is louder on higher settings.
