We hope this information helps you with your project, and please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with today!
Where do I find the model number?
Hello! If you are trying to find the model number on the washer, you would open the lid and look on the rim of the washer. Not the lid, but the rim. The model and serial tag will be listed there. Thank you for your inquiry about our Maytag® appliances.
If I can't bypass the sensing on the machine then how can I fill the machine full when I want?
Hello! We can only recommend to use the settings advised on the washer. Top-load HE washers have a low-water wash system However, some cycles on these machines do use a deeper fill wash or rinse. By using these cycles, such as bulky, you will get a higher water level in your machine. We recommend using the correct cycle based on the type of clothing you are washing. Using the incorrect cycle could result in poor wash performance and tangled clothing. Refer to your Owner's Manual for cycle recommendations. Not all cycles are available on all machines. The delicate or Hand Wash cycle will result in a deeper wash—the washer will fill about half full. The whites, Heavy Duty, Deep Water Wash, Power Wash, and Super Wash will also fill to about half full. Normal, Casual, and Wrinkle Control will fill to slightly less than 1/2 full. Quick Wash or Express Wash will require a minimum fill—only a few inches of water in the bottom of the washer. The bulky cycle will result in a complete fill wash - the washer will be full. Rinse Cycle: Some cycles use a spray rinse. However, if you use the Fabric Softener option, the washer will use a full rinse. NOTE: Using these cycles may increase the amount of time and energy your washer uses. Also, adding additional water to the washer could result in poor wash performance and tangled clothes. When additional water is added to the washer, the clothing could potentially float, not allowing for proper agitation. It also may dilute the detergent. https://youtu.be/X5hD_iuwn9o How it works The washer senses the load size and adds the correct amount of water for the load size. During a cycle, you may notice that the wash load is not completely submerged in water. This is normal and necessary for the clothes to move, especially on units with a wash plate in the bottom. When the Start button is pressed, the washer will start to fill immediately as long as the lid is closed. Opening the lid will put the washer into a pause, and you will have to press the start button to continue the cycle. Next, the washer will use short, slow spins to estimate the load size. These sensing spins may take 2 to 3 minutes before more water is added to the load. The washer will then move the load briefly, pause to allow water to soak into the load, and resume adding water. This process may repeat until the correct amount of water has been added to the load. If you feel the washer level is lower than when you first started using this washer, try running a Clean Washer cycle. This cycle recalibrates the control and resets it back to the factory-set water levels. This cycle should be run approximately once per month (using the affresh® Washer cleaner), and it will recalibrate the control every time the Clean Washer cycle is used. https://youtu.be/cvDY5e-HL8M Low Water Level What modifiers were selected? Once you select a cycle, the default modifiers will be selected. Touch the cycle settings buttons to change the Soil Level, Spin Speed, and Temperature if desired. Not all settings are available with all cycles. If a setting is skipped, it is not available for that cycle. If your model has the option to choose a water level, you can choose to have a deep water wash or auto-sensing. If you would like the machine to automatically sense the appropriate water level for the load size and type, turn the Water Level knob to the Auto Sensing setting. If you would like to add the maximum amount of water to your wash cycle, turn the Water Level knob to the Deep Water Wash setting. https://youtu.be/cvDY5e-HL8M NOTE: Expect longer cycle times due to extended fill times when using the Deep Water Wash option. Were you using the Bulky Cycle? The Bulky Cycle (on some models) uses a series of fills while agitating. There may appear to be insufficient water to wash a bulky load, but the washer will continue to add water while its sensors monitor the load. It could take up to 10-12 minutes to completely fill. This process also increases the cleaning performance. The benefit of agitating while filling results in improved mechanical action for various loads. The Bulky Cycle is recommended for many different types of items (jackets, rugs, comforters, etc.), all of which have different optimal water levels for load motion, depending on load size. Executing agitation during fill improves the washer's ability to reach the optimal wash water level. During the Bulky Cycle, the fill will occasionally pause in order for the washer to provide additional mechanical action at a variety of water levels. Non-Agitator Models The most striking difference in this washer is the low-water wash plate wash system. The washer automatically adjusts the water level to the load size; no water level selector is needed. For best performance, it is recommended to load items in loose heaps evenly around the wash plate. Leave the center of the wash plate uncovered for the best results. As the washer dampens and moves the load, the items' levels settle in the basket. This is normal and does not indicate that more items should be added. IMPORTANT: Do not add more water - it is important that the impeller and the clothes are engaged. If there is too much water, the clothes will float, and the cleaning action will be lessened due to the cycle's design. https://youtu.be/X5hD_iuwn9o Clean Washer Cycle If you feel that the washer level is lower than when you first started using this washer, try running a Clean Washer cycle. This cycle recalibrates the control and resets it to the factory-set water levels. This cycle should be run approximately one time per month or every 30 cycles. Maytag recommends using affresh® to clean your washer. Cleans even where you can't see affresh® cleans deep inside your appliances reaching components such as the tub, racks, pump, valves, drain, and recirculation hoses. Thank you for your inquiry about our Maytag® appliances.
States only 1 agitator speed so how does delicates differ from normal load? Or light soil compare to med soil?
Hello! The delicates cycle will use a higher preset water level. For lightly worn fabrics without visible dirt or stains, choose a Light soil setting. This setting can also help protect fragile items like undergarments or frayed sweaters from the washer. Because delicate fabrics don’t require a lot of water or soap to keep clean, choosing the lightest soil setting will help fight wrinkles and light stains while also reducing overall wash time. Please review the link for some great information on cycle/soil selections. https://www.maytag.com/blog/washers-and-dryers/soil-level-on-a-washing-machine.html
