Does the steam function require hot or cold water

The steam function must be connected to a cold-water supply, not hot water. The dryer uses the cold water to generate steam internally, and the installation instructions specify connecting it to the cold-water line using the included Y-connector.

is this newer GE dryer compatible to stack with a 2019 GE washer model GFD45GSSMWW. Thank you

Model GFD45GSSMWW is also a dryer. Its matching washer is model GFW450SSMWW. Those two models can specifically be stacked with each other, using stacking kit GEFLSTACK. The washer and dryer do need to be matching models to be stacked, and two dryers cannot be stacked, so neither of those models can be stacked with model GFD55GSSNWW.

Will this unit run on propane

Yes, this dryer can be used with propane. The compatible LP conversion kit for this dryer is part WE25M87, which can be viewed and purchased on our GE Appliances Parts website.

What is the difference between model PFD87ESSVWW and GFP1528SNWW

The PFD87ESSVWW is the model number of the actual dryer and the GFP1528SNWW is the optional pedestal that can be used with the dryer. -Vikki@GEAppliances
